Steve Staunton leading the way in the Celeb-Am

As we approach the halfway point in this year’s first Celeb-Am at the Farmfoods British Par 3 Championship, Steve Staunton is currently leading the pack with a score of +1.

The first two groupings have now completed their rounds and in what was a tightly contested clash, the Liverpool and Republic of Ireland legend has the edge over the likes of former Strictly Come Dancing judge Len Goodman, Olympian Calum Giles and Ex-England rugby captain, Mike Tindall MBE.

Steve lead for the majority of the round but had to combat a late fightback from Len who finished just one stroke behind on +2.

The final group of stars includes the likes of Irish boyband hero Brian McFadden, Harry Potter actors James and Oliver Phelps, Scottish television and radio presenter Jenni Falconer and former Strictly Come Dancing professional, James Jordan. They will all be vying to try and knock Steve off the top of the leaderboard.

In the team aspect of the day, it is The Social Golfer who find themselves leading, with a score of -12. Several professionals also took part in today’s Celeb-Am with reigning BP3 champion, Richard O’Hanlon currently the leading pro after finishing his round with a -1.
