Final Pro-Am finely poised with three stars on equal scores

This year’s Pro-Am could well be heading for a play-off with three stars on the same score as it stands.

Overnight leader Steven Tiley, European Tour rookie Aaron Rai and 2013 Norma C Herd Silver Salver winner, Craig Lawrie all on -4. Tiley teed off in part of the final grouping at 3:30pm, vying to defend the lead he earned yesterday.

Rai, who made his debut on the European Tour last year before going on to win three events and has chased down Tiley’s score in style. Despite hitting back to back bogeys, he made up for it by bagging a remarkable hole-in-one on the 11th. This was the second of the day after Gary Wolstenholme MBE earlier in the day.

If scores remain the same it means we would see a nerve-wracking play-off to take place, with the winner taking home the Championship title and the €50,000 prize that comes with it.

Italian star Costantino Rocca is currently leading in the Super Senior category, with David Nelson looking to win the Norma C Herd Silver Salver for best scoring amateur.
