Gary has seen his fellow golfing professionals and Champions (UK) PLC stable mates begin their seasons on the European Tour and Challenge Tour way back in January and March respectively. Itching to get back into action himself this week the European Seniors Tour heads to Mallorca to a completely new venue and new event on the tour schedule.

Pula Golf Club in Mallorca has played host to European Tour events in recent year, the long and difficult, not to mention interesting course has crowned champions such as Henrik Stenson and this week Gary will be hoping to add his name to the roll of honour.

During the off-season, Gary has been working hard on all aspects of his game, including sharpening up his superlative short game skills at Warwickshire's famous Par 3 course, The Cromwell Course at Nailcote Hall, venue for the Farmfoods British Par 3 Championship, which will be played over the course from 7th-10th August.

As Gary swings back into action this week he, like his fellow professionals, will also have one eye on the US PGA Seniors event in two weeks' time as the first major of the 2012 season rapidly approaches. After a number of months off, the Mallorca Senior Open comes as perfect preparation and a great opportunity to get some early Order of Merit points on the board.

Gary begins his first round alongside Dick Mast and Ross Drummond teeing off at 10.30am (9.30am UK time).

Log on to www.europeantour.com to keep up to date with all of the latest scores from Mallorca or tune in to Sky Sports to watch all of the live action unfold.

All of Gary's sponsors and the team at Champions would like to wish him the best of luck this week at the Mallorca Senior open.

A stalwart of Tony Jacklin's highly successful European Ryder Cup teams of the 1980s, the 1991 Masters Champion Ian Woosnam OBE will be joining his former skipper at the Cromwell Course as they compete for the coveted 2012 Farmfoods British Par 3 Championship trophy.

With more than 48 professional titles to his name worldwide and a famous Masters Tournament Green Jacket in his wardrobe, Ian Woosnam is quite simply one of the most successful European golfers of the last 50 years and all the team behind the Farmfoods British Par 3 Championship 2012 are delighted that he will be teeing it up at Nailcote Hall in August.

Woosnam will always be remembered for his victory at the 1991 Masters Tournament. Going on to the 72nd hole tied with José María Olazábal and Tom Watson on -11 par, Woosnam managed a solid par at the last while the other two players bogeyed to ensure the Welshman was the one wearing the Green Jacket at the close of play. The victory came at a time when Woosnam really was the best player in the world, having surged to the top of the world rankings earlier that season, a position he enjoyed for a total of 50 weeks.

When Woosnam led Europe to victory as skipper at the 2006 Ryder Cup, it was a fantastic tribute to one of Europe's most successful matchplay players ever. As the only player to win the prestigious World Matchplay Championship in three different decades, Woosnam became a stalwart of Tony Jacklin's highly successful Ryder Cup teams in the 1980s. Throughout his matchplay career, Woosnam's legendary fiery competitiveness made him a formidable opponent, forming excellent partnerships with Sam Torrance in 1983 and Paul Way in 1985. In 1987, an inspired pairing of Woosnam and Faldo proved instrumental as Europe strode to their first victory on US soil at Muirfield Village, Ohio.

Since turning professional in 1976, Woosnam has been successful in every decade of his near 40 year career and is still at the top of his game today. In his first season on the Senior Tour, Woosnam made history by becoming the only player to win both the European Tour Order of Merit and the European Senior Tour Order of Merit in his career. Combining a thriving course design business with his playing commitments, Woosnam finished the 2011 season in fifth place on the Senior Tour Order of Merit, suggesting he will be one of the toughest competitors at Nailcote Hall in August.

Three of the most successful goalkeepers ever to ply their trade in the English Premier League are now confirmed for this year's Farmfoods British Par 3 Championship at Nailcote Hall, Warwickshire, from 7th – 10th August.

As England's most capped footballer ever, Peter Shilton OBE was the backbone of the England squad throughout the 1970s, 1980s and 1990s, racking up 125 caps in a hugely successful international career. His heroics on the international stage included the record for the most clean sheets in the World Cup, a record he shares with Fabian Barthez of France on 10 clean sheets.

At the prestigious Farmfoods British Par 3 Championship this year, Shilton will be joined with two other goalkeeping legends: Peter Schmeichel MBE and David Seaman MBE.

A footballing giant, Denmark and Manchester United goalkeeper Peter Schmeichel earned 129 international caps during his extraordinarily successful career in the net, captaining the Denmark side in 30 matches and helping Denmark win the European Championships in 1992. Famously described by Sir Alex Ferguson as "the bargain of the century", Manchester United bought Peter Schmeichel for only £505,000 from Brøndby in 1985. He would go on to become the club's No 1 choice keeper throughout the 1990s, culminating in the greatest style possible as they won the Treble of the FA Cup, the Premier League and the Uefa Champions League in 1999 with Schmeichel.

David Seaman is England's second most capped goalkeeper ever after Shilton, with 75 caps earned before he retired from professional football in 2004. Counting FA Cup, League Cup, European Cup Winners' Cup and notable Premier League and FA Cup "doubles" under Arsene Wenger in 1996 and 2002. The former Arsenal and Manchester City goalkeeper put in legendary performances at both international and league level, including a famous save during the semi final of the FA Cup in 2002 which Schmeichel, commentating for the BBC at the time, dubbed "the best save I have ever seen".

But will the Danish keeper be as complimentary when it comes to Seaman's golfing ability? Sure to be a favourite with the crowds at Nailcote Hall this year, as this legendary triumvirate of international goalkeeping talent takes to the infamous Cromwell Course, it remains to be seen which will have the safest pair of hands when they swap their goalkeeping gloves for golf gloves!
